1. SAM ALTMAN / OpenAI + World ID

1A. OpenAI Governance Crisis (November 2023)

The Ouster (Nov 17, 2023): OpenAI’s board - Helen Toner, Adam D’Angelo, Tasha McCauley, and Ilya Sutskever - fired Altman as CEO. The board stated he “was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities.” Sutskever had compiled a dossier outlining Altman’s pattern of misleading the board.

The Reversal (Nov 22, 2023): Altman reinstated after ~97% of OpenAI employees signed a letter demanding his return, threatening mass resignation. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella publicly offered to hire Altman and the entire team. New board: Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, Adam D’Angelo. Original board dissolved.

Key Reading: The crisis revealed that Microsoft’s $13B investment effectively gave it veto power over governance. The nonprofit board’s safety concerns were overridden by commercial pressure in under 5 days.

1B. World/Worldcoin: Biometric ID Infrastructure

Scale: ~33 million World App users as of September 2025, of which ~15-17.5 million were iris-verified. Targeting 1 billion users (currently <2% of goal). Rebranded from “Worldcoin” to “World Network” in October 2024.

Funding: $250 million from VC firms including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Note: a16z funding World ID creates a direct Altman-Andreessen financial link.

Countries that banned or suspended operations:

  • Kenya - Suspended August 2023 (security, privacy, financial concerns). High Court declared operations illegal May 2025.
  • Spain - Temporary ban March 2024, ordered data deletion (AEPD ruling).
  • Germany - Bavarian data authority ordered iris data deletion December 2024 (GDPR violation).
  • Portugal - Three-month ban March 2024.
  • Brazil - National Data Protection Authority ordered halt January 2025.
  • Indonesia - Suspended all operations May 2025.
  • Sources: BitPinas - List of countries, Euronews - German watchdog order, Tempo - 8 countries banning

Government partnerships: Taiwan and Malaysia signed digital identity verification partnerships by late 2024.

Privacy concerns: Failed to provide sufficient info about data processing, collected data from minors, did not allow consent withdrawal, posed “high risk to individuals’ rights” (Spanish AEPD).

1C. Altman’s Political Connections and Donations

Shift from Democrat to Trump:

  • 2016-2022: Repeatedly warned about Trump, once compared him to Hitler in 1930s Germany.
  • 2019: Hosted fundraiser for Andrew Yang.
  • 2020: Donated $250K to American Bridge 21st Century (pro-Biden PAC), $100K to Biden Victory Fund.
  • 2023: $200K to Biden Victory Fund.
  • December 2024: Donated $1 million personal funds to Trump’s inauguration fund.
  • Statement: “President Trump will lead our country into the age of AI.”
  • Sources: NPR - Tech moguls donate to inauguration, The Hill - Altman $1M donation, ABC News - Altman warned about Trump

Senate scrutiny: Democratic senators accused Altman of “cozying up to the incoming Trump administration.” Altman posted the senators’ letter publicly and clapped back.

1D. OpenAI Military/Intelligence Contracts

Pentagon Contract (February 2026): OpenAI secured a $200 million OTA (Other Transaction Authority) with the Department of Defense to prototype frontier-AI capabilities for “warfighting and enterprise domains.” Completion estimated July 2026.

Context: The deal came hours after Anthropic declined a similar contract and was blacklisted from Pentagon work. OpenAI moved to fill the gap.

Stated red lines: No mass domestic surveillance, no directing autonomous weapons, no high-stakes automated decisions. Critics: full contract text not public, ample loopholes exist.

1E. Connection to Thiel

Direct: Peter Thiel was an original founding donor of OpenAI in 2015 alongside Altman, Musk, and others. Thiel was Altman’s mentor and main backer in Silicon Valley - most of Altman’s initial $21M Hydrazine Capital fund came from Thiel.

1F. Microsoft Partnership

Total investment: $13 billion ($1B in 2019, more in 2021, $10B in January 2023, additional October 2024). Microsoft holds ~27% on as-converted diluted basis, valued at ~$135 billion after October 2025 restructuring to public benefit corporation.

Profit split: Microsoft receives 75% of profits until $13B recouped, then 49% until a cap.

1G. Stack State Connection

OpenAI + World ID represents a critical Stack State layer: identity infrastructure. World ID aims to become the global proof-of-humanness layer. Combined with OpenAI’s $200M Pentagon deal and Microsoft’s Azure integration (all API products exclusive to Azure), the stack is: Microsoft (cloud) -> OpenAI (intelligence) -> World ID (identity) -> Pentagon (enforcement). a16z funding World ID closes the VC-to-surveillance loop.

2. ALEX KARP / PALANTIR

2A. Government Contracts

Total federal contracts: $970.5 million in 2025, nearly doubling from $541.2 million in 2024. Growth trajectory: $4.4M (2009) -> $541M (2024) -> $970M (2025).

Revenue (2025): $4.48 billion total. Operating income: $1.41 billion. Net income: $1.63 billion. Total equity: $7.39 billion. 4,429 employees.

2B. DOGE Connection

Palantir alumni in government: DOGE hired “a number of former Palantir employees.” Specific identified individuals:

DOGE work: Palantir tapped to create master immigration database to speed deportations. Also reported: creating IRS “mega-database.”

Palantir’s position: Claims no direct DOGE contracts. However, 36+ employees/allies of Musk, Thiel, Andreessen, and Luckey have taken roles at federal agencies.

2C. ICE Contracts (Immigration Surveillance)

ImmigrationOS: $30 million contract to build “ImmigrationOS” surveillance platform for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) - the division responsible for raids, detention, and deportations. Total potential value of Palantir’s ICE contract: over $127 million.

Senate scrutiny: Senator Wyden and AOC wrote to Karp demanding answers about surveillance capabilities.

2D. Connection to Thiel

Direct co-founder: Peter Thiel co-founded Palantir in 2003 alongside Alex Karp, Stephen Cohen, Joe Lonsdale, and Nathan Gettings. Thiel is chairman. Palantir received early CIA seed funding through In-Q-Tel.

2E. Stock Performance Since January 2025

Massive surge: Palantir stock up ~200% under Trump as of mid-2025. Best-performing stock of 2024, among top performers 2025. Market cap ~$360 billion as of April 2026. Significant pullback (>20%) from November 2025 all-time high, currently trading above $150.

2F. Military Applications

Project Maven: Launched 2017 by Pentagon to use AI for processing surveillance imagery/video. Google dropped the contract. Palantir took over in 2019. Evolved into the Maven Smart System (MSS) - fuses satellite, drone, and ground sensor data for real-time threat assessment and targeting. Contract ceiling raised to nearly $1.3 billion through 2029 (boosted by $795M in May 2025).

$10 Billion Army Contract: In July/August 2025, Palantir won a 10-year, $10 billion contract with the U.S. Army - consolidating 75 separate contracts. Largest contract in company history.

Former employees condemn: Former workers wrote public letter condemning Palantir’s work with Trump administration.

3. JARED KUSHNER

3A. Affinity Partners + Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund

Timeline:

  • January 2021: Kushner leaves White House.
  • June 2021: Affinity Partners founded.
  • July 2021: Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) commits $2 billion - six months after Kushner left office.
  • End of 2021: Total commitments exceed $3 billion (additional funds from Qatar, UAE, Taiwanese billionaire Terry Gou).
  • 2024-2026: Still operating while Kushner simultaneously serves as informal diplomatic envoy.

Terms (Wyden Investigation findings):

  • Standard “2 and 20” model (2% annual management fees + 20% carried interest).
  • $157 million in total fees collected as of mid-2024, including $87 million from Saudi PIF alone.
  • ZERO returns to investors as of July 2024. Capital largely undeployed, sitting in low-yield accounts.
  • PIF’s own screening panel objected: “unsatisfactory in all aspects,” fees “excessive,” management “inexperienced.”

Corruption allegations:

3B. Abraham Accords

What they accomplished: Signed September 2020. Normalization agreements between Israel and UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. Largest breakthrough in Israel-Arab relations in 25 years.

Who benefited:

  • Israeli defense exports to normalization countries: $791 million (Israel Ministry of Defense).
  • Kushner, Mnuchin, Friedman: All now have ownership stakes in funds receiving billions from Saudi, UAE, and Qatari governments.
  • Kushner: $2B Saudi, $1.2B Qatar sovereign wealth + Abu Dhabi Lunate.

Abraham Accords Institute: Founded by Kushner post-White House. In April 2025, merged into the Heritage Foundation.

3C. 666 Fifth Avenue

Purchase: Kushner Companies bought 666 Fifth Avenue in 2007 for $1.8 billion - most expensive single property in US history at the time. Mostly borrowed.

The crisis: By 2017, building 30% vacant, $1.4 billion debt payment due.

The bailout: Brookfield purchased the ground lease, paying ~$1.28 billion in nearly a century of rent upfront, just months before the note came due.

The Qatar connection: Financial Times found Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund was the second-largest stakeholder in Brookfield Property Partners - the entity that bailed Kushner out. Timeline: Kushner had previously sought a $500M bailout directly from Qatar’s ex-PM (failed). After the bailout via Brookfield, restrictions on Qatar were eased.

Congressional investigation: Wyden + Castro launched probe into whether the $1.28B bailout influenced US foreign policy (Saudi blockade of Qatar was lifted afterward).

3D. Netanyahu Relationship

Personal: Netanyahu slept in Jared Kushner’s childhood bedroom at the Kushner family home in New Jersey during visits. Long-standing family relationship. Kushner described as having “deeply pro-Israel and pro-Netanyahu ideological commitments.”

3E. MBS Relationship

Personal: Kushner and MBS communicated regularly via WhatsApp during and after Trump’s first term. Described as a “strong personal bond.” Within the first Trump administration, Kushner was a “staunch defender” of MBS.

Post-Khashoggi: Kushner maintained the MBS relationship even after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi (October 2018), despite intelligence community conclusions about MBS’s involvement.

3F. Leo/Dark Money Connection

Indirect but documented: Kushner’s Abraham Accords Institute merged into the Heritage Foundation (April 2025). Heritage is the center of Leo’s Project 2025 infrastructure, to which Leo funneled $55M+. This makes the Kushner-to-Leo connection run through Heritage. No direct financial link found between Kushner and Leo’s dark money network specifically.

4. MARC ANDREESSEN / a16z

4A. Techno-Optimist Manifesto (October 2023)

What it says: “Technology is the glory of human ambition and achievement, the spearhead of progress, and the realization of our potential.” Argues civilization is built on technology and markets should be unregulated to allow maximum innovation.

Named “enemies”: ESG, “trust and safety,” sustainability, social responsibility, tech ethics, risk management, the precautionary principle, degrowth, “bureaucracy,” and “experts.” The manifesto explicitly calls these threats to progress.

Ideological lineage: References Marc’s own description as being influenced by Nietzsche and Hayek. Critics compared it to old-school reactionary elitism.

4B. Political Donations and Trump Shift

Former Democrat: Supported Democratic presidential candidates until 2016.

What changed: Biden’s proposed “billionaire minimum income tax” + antitrust enforcement on tech + cryptocurrency regulation push. Andreessen told Joe Rogan: “They are going to destroy our companies.”

Fairshake PAC: a16z poured $47+ million into Fairshake, a crypto-focused super PAC that became one of the largest corporate PACs in American politics, “eclipsing the cumulative $176 million the fossil fuel industry has spent over the past 14 years.”

Trump support: Came out publicly for Trump in 2024 campaign. In 2026, appointed to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) by Trump.

4C. a16z Portfolio in Defense/Surveillance

American Dynamism Fund: Launched 2023. $1.2 billion fund run by Katherine Boyle (described as “the tech right’s own Phyllis Schlafly”). Focused on defense, space, manufacturing, robotics.

Key defense investments:

  • Anduril Industries - Autonomous weapons, border surveillance. $20B Army contract.
  • Shield AI - AI autonomous drones. Co-founded by former Navy SEAL.
  • Skydio - Drone startup.
  • Epirus - Counter-drone technology.
  • Hadrian - Defense manufacturing.
  • Castelion - Hypersonic long-range rockets.

a16z leads defense VC: Most defense tech investments since 2021 with 14 deals, alongside Thiel’s Founders Fund.

4D. Connection to Thiel and Founders Fund

Philosophical alignment: Andreessen and Thiel are described as “often considered the important tech investors in the U.S. defense industry sector.” They co-invest in defense tech, share political alignment, and their firms (a16z + Founders Fund) lead the defense VC space together.

Co-investment: Both invested in Anduril. Both backed defense and crypto portfolios. Founders Fund partner Trae Stephens co-founded Anduril (also former Palantir).

PCAST: Both appointed to Trump’s PCAST in 2026. Thiel named “AI and crypto czar.”

Personnel pipeline: 36+ employees, allies, and investors of Musk, Thiel, Andreessen, and Luckey have taken roles at federal agencies.

4E. “Little Tech” Agenda

What regulation he opposes: AI regulation, cryptocurrency regulation, billionaire minimum income tax, antitrust enforcement against tech, ESG requirements, platform liability, content moderation mandates (“trust and safety” as named enemy).

DOGE involvement: Not officially DOGE staff, but listed by Washington Post as “a key networker for talent recruitment” at DOGE. Has shared insight about DOGE’s plans in various interviews.

4F. CNP/CPAC Connections

No direct CNP membership documented in available sources. However, the connection runs through:

  • Heritage Foundation: a16z’s American Dynamism summit overlaps with Heritage’s defense policy agenda.
  • PCAST appointment: puts Andreessen directly in Trump policy orbit alongside Thiel.
  • Defense portfolio: Anduril, Shield AI, etc. feed the same military-industrial apparatus that CNP/Heritage advocate expanding.
  • Katherine Boyle (a16z partner): compared to Phyllis Schlafly, a foundational figure in the conservative movement that includes CNP.

Indirect but functional: Andreessen is part of the tech-to-government pipeline. His network maps to the same infrastructure even without formal CNP membership.

5. NEIL AND ANN CORKERY

5A. Opus Dei Membership

Confirmed: The Corkerys described themselves as members of Opus Dei in an interview with the South Florida Sun Sentinel. They are “veteran Republican operatives who have cultivated a robust network of conservative and Catholic-affiliated nonprofits, charities and funds notable for their near-total opacity.”

5B. Wellspring Committee

Founded: 2008 by Ann Corkery (president). Neil Corkery was sole board member.

Money flow:

  • $24 million raised 2008-2011, distributed $17M+ to shell organizations.
  • 2016: Received $32+ million in donations, with $28.5 million from a SINGLE anonymous donor.
  • Most funds came from three multi-million dollar secret donors ($8.9M, $5.5M, $2M as largest three).
  • Wellspring accounted for more than 90% of the financial support behind the Judicial Crisis Network.

Leonard Leo’s role: Leo was “directly involved” in raising much of the anonymous money contributed to Wellspring.

Closure: Terminated December 2018. Served for 10 years as “little more than a passthrough for anonymous money into politically active nonprofits that spent tens of millions on elections and judicial nominations.”

5C. Judicial Crisis Network (now Concord Fund)

Founded: 2005, originally as Judicial Confirmation Network to promote George W. Bush’s judicial appointees.

Ann and Neil’s roles: JCN “has in the past been interchangeably overseen by Ann and Neil Corkery.” Neil formerly served as treasurer.

Supreme Court campaign spending:

  • Gorsuch (2017): $10 million in advocacy ads (simultaneously $7M spent to block Obama nominee Garland in 2016).
  • Kavanaugh (2018): $4.5 million in ad buys + $17.1M from single anonymous donor.
  • Barrett (2020): $2.2 million campaign launched immediately after RBG’s death.
  • Total across three confirmations: $25+ million.

Rebranded: Now called the Concord Fund. Run by Carrie Severino (former Thomas clerk, Leo’s operational lieutenant).

5D. The 85 Fund

Co-founded: by Leonard Leo with Neil Corkery in 2011 (originally as Judicial Education Project, rebranded to The 85 Fund in 2020).

Scale: Distributed $134 million (largely to reactionary political causes) in 2022. Received $117 million in anonymous funding in 2021.

Neil Corkery’s role: “Possesses the organization’s books and records” for The 85 Fund AND Leo’s Marble Freedom Trust.

Payments to Leo: The 85 Fund paid $80+ million to CRC Advisors (Leo’s own consulting firm, now rebranded) since Leo took it over in 2020 - out of $88M total since 2012.

5E. Role in Supreme Court Confirmation Campaigns

Operational plumbing: The Corkerys’ function is best understood as the accounting and operational infrastructure that makes Leo’s judicial capture machine work:

  1. Wellspring Committee (2008-2018): Anonymous money in -> JCN out. 90%+ of JCN funding.
  2. Judicial Crisis Network/Concord Fund (2005-present): The spending arm. $25M+ across three Supreme Court confirmations.
  3. The 85 Fund (2011-present): The 501(c)(3) arm. $134M distributed in a single year.
  4. Marble Freedom Trust: Neil possesses the books and records of the trust that received the $1.6 billion Barre Seid donation - the largest known donation to a political advocacy group in US history.

Total Leo network spending (known): ~$504 million between mid-2015 and 2021 (Teneo Network collectively). Plus the $1.6B Seid donation in 2022.
