THE PROPHECY MACHINE

34 Seers. 12 Traditions. 1 Universal Pattern. And Why It Probably Means Nothing.

An intelligence analyst applies OSINT methodology to the world’s oldest dataset: prophecy.

THE QUESTION

In 1950s Bavaria, an illiterate well-digger named Alois Irlmaier described a sequence of events that would lead to a Third World War. His description included specific details: peace talks followed by sudden war, naval fleets in the Mediterranean, the fall of a “Great One” (traditionally read as a Balkans assassination — but possibly not), Russian invasion of Europe, chemical weapons that rain “yellow dust,” 72 hours of darkness, and a golden age after.

In February 2026, a bored intelligence analyst decided to do what no serious analyst should: take prophecy seriously. Not as truth — as data. Cross-reference it against other traditions. Map it to current events. See what patterns emerge.

The patterns were more interesting than expected.

The conclusions will make nobody happy.

PART I: THE SOURCE TEXT

Who Was Alois Irlmaier?

Born 1894, Scharam, Bavaria. Well-digger (Brunnenbauer). Claimed visions after being buried alive for four days during WWI on the Eastern Front. Settled in Freilassing. Never charged for his services. During WWII, people queued outside his door to ask about missing family members. Reportedly helped solve a murder case — he described “tablets in the dead man’s gut and a dark-haired woman” before the arsenic was found.

Tested in court in 1947. The judge’s verdict:

“The testimony of witnesses produced such astonishing evidence of the defendant’s clairvoyant abilities that he cannot be called a charlatan.”

Died 1959. His prophecies were recorded in a 2009 tz.de article that’s been circulating the German-speaking internet ever since.

The Sequence (translated from German originals)

1. Everyone calls for peace:

“Alles ruft Friede, Schalom! Da wird’s passieren. Ein neuer Nahostkrieg flammt plötzlich auf, große Flottenverbände stehen sich im Mittelmeer feindlich gegenüber.”

“Everyone calls for peace, Shalom! Then it will happen. A new Middle East war flares up suddenly, great naval fleets face each other hostilely in the Mediterranean.”

2. The “Great One” falls:

“Aber der eigentliche zündende Funke wird im Balkan ins Pulverfass geworfen: Ich sehe einen ‘Großen’ fallen, ein blutiger Dolch liegt daneben. Zwei Männer bringen einen dritten Hochgestellten um. Sie sind von anderen bezahlt.”

“But the actual spark is thrown into the powder keg in the Balkans: I see a ‘Great One’ fall, a bloody dagger lies beside him. Two men kill a third high-placed one. They are paid by others.”

Note the colon. The German grammar places the spark IN the Balkans, but doesn’t say the “Great One” IS Balkan. Franz Ferdinand was Austrian, killed in Sarajevo. The “Großen” could be any world leader. The dagger is metaphor — treachery, not literal weapon. See Part IV for the three-reading analysis.

3. The Eastern invasion:

“Ganz schwarz kommt eine Heersäule herein von Osten. Es geht alles sehr schnell.”

“Completely black, a column of troops comes in from the East. Everything happens very fast.”

4. The Yellow Dragon:

“Der Gelbe Drache fällt in Alaska und Kanada ein. Jedoch kommt er nicht weit.”

“The Yellow Dragon invades Alaska and Canada. However, he does not get far.”

5. The yellow dust:

“Dann regnet es einen gelben Staub in einer Linie… Wo es hinfällt, lebt nichts mehr.”

“Then it rains a yellow dust in a line… Where it falls, nothing lives anymore.”

6. Three Days of Darkness:

“Finster wird es werden an einem Tag… Geh’ nicht hinaus aus dem Haus! Nach 72 Stunden ist alles vorbei.”

“It will become dark on one day… Don’t go out of the house! After 72 hours everything is over.”

7. Peace and climate change:

“Dann ist Frieden… Durch die Klimaänderung wird bei uns wieder Wein angebaut.”

“Then there is peace… Due to climate change, wine will be grown here again.”

A serious analyst reads this and files it under “folklore.” Then checks the date on the wine prediction. Then checks what’s happening in Bavaria in 2026.

Then gets uncomfortable.

PART II: THE CROSS-CHECK (34 Seers, 12 Traditions)

Here’s where it gets interesting. I ran four parallel research agents across the internet, searching not for confirmation — searching for the same structural pattern in traditions that had no historical contact with a Bavarian well-digger.

They found it. Everywhere.

The Universal 7-Phase Sequence

Phase Islam Hindu Buddhist Hopi Norse Zoroastrian Catholic
1. Moral decay Corruption fills earth Kali Yuga Materialism Upper path diverges Axe age, wolf age Age of Mixture Wars and rumors
2. Trigger Battle at Dabiq Kalki descends Barbarians attack Gourd of ashes Fenrir breaks free Daevas marshal Balkans spark
3. Great war Malhama al-Kubra Final Kali Yuga war 25th King’s army Great Purification Gods vs. monsters Yazatas vs. Daevas Eastern invasion
4. Darkness/poison Dukhan (40 days) Brahmastra fallout Destruction Land uninhabitable Surtr’s fire Molten metal river 72 hours, yellow dust
5. Selective survival Believers endure Dharma-keepers live Shambhala preserved Lower path survives Lif & Lifthrasir hide Righteous feel warmth Stay indoors
6. Savior figure Mahdi + Isa Kalki Raudra Chakrin True White Brother Baldr returns Saoshyant Great Monarch
7. Golden age Justice restored Satya Yuga Dharma age Fifth World New green world Perfection Long happy time

Every tradition. Every continent. Every millennium.

The same story.

The Standout Parallels

Norse Ragnarok — The Hiding Parallel

In the Völuspá (10th century), two humans survive the apocalypse: Lif and Lifthrasir. How? They hide. They stay concealed while Surtr’s fire burns the world. When it’s over, they emerge into a green, renewed earth.

Irlmaier, 1950s Bavaria: “Don’t go out of the house. After 72 hours everything is over.”

Same instruction. Same mechanism. Same outcome. No documented transmission path between Norse mythology and Bavarian folk prophecy.

Islamic Dukhan — The Selective Poison

The Quran (Surah 44:10): “Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke.”

The hadith literature elaborates: for believers, it causes only a cold. For disbelievers, it “permeates the entire body so much so that it will ooze out from every pore.”

Irlmaier: “Whoever inhales the dust gets a cramp and dies.” But those who stay indoors with sealed windows survive.

Selective lethality. Same concept. Different frame.

Zoroastrian Frashokereti — The Original Template

The Avesta (c. 1000-500 BCE) — likely the oldest organized apocalyptic tradition on Earth — describes a river of molten metal flowing across the world. For the righteous: it feels like warm milk. For the wicked: purifying agony. But — and this is unique — even the wicked survive. They emerge purified, not destroyed.

Zoroastrianism may have invented the apocalypse. Judaism borrowed the framework. Christianity elaborated it. Islam refined it. And a well-digger in Bavaria independently reinvented it.

Or did he?

The Convergence Numbers

Irlmaier Element Independent Sources Strongest Traditions

Post-war golden age 10+ Every. Single. Tradition.

PART III: THE REALITY CHECK (February 2026)

Here’s where the analyst in me gets nervous. Because the geopolitical signals aren’t prophecy. They’re sourced from Reuters, the Atlantic Council, USNI Fleet Tracker, and European intelligence briefings.

Signal Dashboard

# Irlmaier Signal Feb 2026 Status Confidence
1 “Everyone calls for peace, Shalom” ACTIVE — Ukraine/Gaza/Iran talks simultaneously HIGH
2 “Middle East war flares up” HIGH TENSION — Israel-Iran strikes, nuclear rebuild HIGH
3 “Naval fleets in Mediterranean” ACTIVE20+ US ships, Russian subs shadowed by NATO HIGH
4 “Balkans powder keg” SIMMERING — Serbia protests, Kosovo tensions MODERATE
5 “‘Great One’ falls” ELEVATED — Three readings: Balkans / Putin / US President (see below) MODERATE
6 “Dark column from East” BUILDINGRussia plans 2-3x NATO border force HIGH
7 “Yellow Dragon” (China) UPGRADED — No invasion capacity, but 7 crises + PLA purge + closing window (see below) LOW-MOD
8 “Yellow dust” (chemical/bio) ELEVATED — Russia dirty bomb rhetoric, AI bioweapons LOW
9 Wine in Bavaria CONFIRMED200+ hectares new German vineyards CONFIRMED

Who Is the “Great One”? (Signal 5 — Three Readings)

This is where traditional Irlmaier interpretation may be wrong. Everyone assumes “Balkans assassination” because of the Franz Ferdinand parallel. But re-read the German: the spark is in the Balkans. The victim isn’t specified as Balkan.

Reading A: Balkans Leader (Traditional)

  • Fits the WWI template. Serbia protests, Kosovo tensions, Dodik secessionism.
  • Problem: No current Balkans figure qualifies as “Großen” (Great One). Dodik? Vučić? Kurti? Regional players, not world-shaking.
  • Verdict: Weakest reading for 2026.

Reading B: Putin (Strongest current match)

  • “Great One” fits. Putin is the dominant figure of the current geopolitical era.
  • Dec 2025: Russia claimed Ukraine drone-struck Putin’s Valdai residence. CIA denied it. May 2025: Russia claimed his helicopter was targeted in Kursk. Wagner mutiny (2023) exposed regime fragility.
  • “Bloody dagger” = treachery. Inner-circle betrayal. A palace coup, not a sniper.
  • Balkans connection: Serbia is Russia’s European proxy. Putin falls → Dodik loses his patron → Balkans destabilize → powder keg ignites. The spark is in the Balkans, but the cause is Moscow.
  • “Schlag auf Schlag” (blow after blow) = cascading destabilization. Exactly what a Putin succession crisis triggers.

Reading C: US President (Moderate)

My updated assessment: Reading B (Putin) is the strongest match. The cascading effect is the tell — Putin’s removal triggers exactly the “blow after blow” Irlmaier describes, and the Balkans destabilize as a consequence, not the origin. The original interpretation may have the causality backwards.

The Uncomfortable Bit

Signals 1, 2, and 3 are simultaneously active — matching Irlmaier’s exact sequence:

  1. Everyone calls for peace ✓ (Geneva talks, Gaza ceasefire, Iran nuclear talks)
  2. Middle East war flares up ✓ (Israel-Iran strikes, nuclear facility rebuilding)
  3. Naval fleets in Mediterranean ✓ (Cold War-level concentration, per USNI)

The last time these three conditions coexisted was the 1973 Yom Kippur War — superpower détente, sudden Middle East war, Mediterranean naval confrontation.

That doesn’t mean prophecy works. It means the pattern-match is non-trivial.

The Fourth Powder Keg: China’s Shakespearean Moment

Everyone watching the prophecy map stares at the Balkans, the Middle East, and Russia. Almost nobody is watching China. They should be.

The numbers:

The purge:

This is the part that should keep you awake. Since 2023, Xi Jinping has been purging the PLA at a pace not seen since Mao:

  • Zhang Youxia — CMC Vice Chairman, Xi’s closest military ally — arrested Jan 2026
  • He Weidong — the other CMC Vice Chairman — relieved 2025
  • Li Shangfu — Defense Minister — removed 2024
  • Li Yuchao — Rocket Force commander — removed 2023
  • Miao Hua — Political Work Department head — relieved 2025
  • Lin Xiangyang — Eastern Theater Command (the one pointed at Taiwan) — relieved 2025
  • At least 15 full generals investigated, 20+ vanished from public view

Christian Science Monitor called it “a Shakespearean moment.” Foreign Affairs called the implications “unsettling.” When your closest ally becomes your prisoner, either the corruption is real or the paranoia is terminal.

The closing window:

Xi set a 2027 deadline for the PLA to be ready to take Taiwan. Record 3,570 aircraft incursions around Taiwan in 2025. First confirmed PLA drone in Taiwanese airspace (Pratas Island, Jan 2026). Meanwhile his officer corps is being hollowed out.

What this means for the Irlmaier pattern:

The “Yellow Dragon invades Alaska/Canada” remains the weakest Irlmaier element — no one seriously expects a Chinese amphibious invasion of North America. But China’s crisis trajectory makes it the fourth powder keg alongside the Balkans, the Middle East, and Russia. The question isn’t whether China invades Alaska. The question is whether a desperate, economically imploding, militarily purged China does something else reckless — and whether that action intersects with the other three powder kegs already smoldering.

Stalin purged his officer corps in 1937-38. It catastrophically reduced capability but didn’t prevent aggressive territorial expansion. It enabled it — fewer institutional checks, more personal control, more paranoid decision-making.

The pattern to watch: internal crisis → closing window → reduced institutional checks → miscalculation.

And if you want a fourth “Great One falls” reading: Xi himself. The man who arrested his closest ally has reason to sleep poorly. History’s most powerful dictators are most vulnerable when they trust no one.

PART IV: CUI BONO (Who Benefits from Prophecy?)

An intelligence analyst always asks: who profits?

Beneficiary How Confidence
Russian information operations Baba Vanga predictions amplified by Russian social media; fatalism undermines Western resolve HIGH
Apocalypse media industry Prophecy = clicks. The tz.de article from 2009 is still viral in 2026 HIGH
Defense establishments “Prophetic confirmation” of Russian threat supports spending arguments MODERATE
You, reading this Intellectual entertainment disguised as analysis HIGH

The Adversary Test

“If Russia had designed a narrative to make Europeans fatalistic about an inevitable Eastern invasion, what would differ from the current prophecy amplification?”

Not much. The Baba Vanga amplification through Russian social media trolls is documented. The Irlmaier narrative — specifically the “unstoppable dark column from the East” — normalizes the concept of inevitable Russian advance.

This doesn’t mean the prophecies are Russian psyops. It means the amplification serves identifiable strategic interests. The signal and the noise occupy the same frequency.

PART 4.5: THE WEAPONS SCIENCE (What Could Actually Produce This?)

The “Three Days of Darkness” and the “Yellow Dust” are the elements people dismiss fastest. Mystical nonsense. Supernatural imagery. But an analyst doesn’t dismiss — an analyst asks: is there a real-world mechanism that produces this exact effect?

There is. More than one.

Three Days of Darkness: The Campi Flegrei Problem

A supervolcano sits under Naples. It’s called Campi Flegrei. In March and June 2025, it produced the strongest earthquakes seen in centuries. Over half a million people live inside the 8-mile crater.

39,000 years ago, its eruption covered all of Europe and parts of Russia in volcanic ash. If it erupts again at VEI 6-7, the effects match Irlmaier’s description point by point:

Irlmaier Says Campi Flegrei Would Produce
“It will become dark” Ash plume darkening skies for days-weeks (Tambora 1815: 2 days of total darkness within 600km)
“Don’t go outside” Sulfur dioxide gas — the 1783 Laki eruption sent toxic fog across all of Europe: Prague by June 17, Berlin by June 18, Paris by June 20, Britain by June 23. Ships couldn’t navigate. Thousands died of respiratory failure.
“The wind drives the death cloud eastward” Prevailing European winds blow west-to-east. An Italian eruption’s plume would cross Central Europe.
“After 72 hours everything is over” The acute toxic phase of a volcanic gas cloud passing over a region could last ~3 days before dispersing. Laki lasted months; a shorter eruption = shorter acute window.

Note: Can you trigger a supervolcano with a nuclear weapon? No. USGS confirmed this. Even a hydrogen-bomb-equivalent earthquake next to Yellowstone’s magma chamber didn’t cause an eruption. Volcanoes erupt on their own schedule.

But Campi Flegrei is on its own schedule. And it’s stirring. Right now. Under Italy — the same country where 7 traditions describe clergy being persecuted and the Pope fleeing Rome.

Yellow Dust: Three Weapons, One Composite Image

No single weapon matches everything. But three weapons together explain every detail:

“Yellow dust rains in a line” = Sulfur mustard (HD). Yellow-brown in military form. Used in WWI as an area-denial weapon — persists for days to weeks, forces abandonment of contaminated ground. Irlmaier was a WWI veteran on the Eastern Front. He would have known mustard gas. “Yellow dust” may simply be a well-digger’s vocabulary for chemical weapons.

“The tanks still drive, but those sitting inside have turned completely black” = Neutron bomb (enhanced radiation weapon). This is the detail that should make skeptics uncomfortable. The ERW is specifically designed to kill armored vehicle crews — neutron radiation penetrates tank armor, delivers a lethal dose to everyone inside, while leaving the vehicle intact. Radiation burns cause skin blackening. Irlmaier died in 1959. The neutron bomb wasn’t publicly discussed until the late 1970s. The first US test was 1963. He described, with technical precision, a weapon that didn’t exist yet in public discourse.

“Where it falls, nothing lives anymore” = Radiological contamination zone. Either nuclear fallout from ground-burst weapons (yellowcake uranium is yellow) or persistent chemical contamination creating a permanent no-go zone.

What This Means

If Irlmaier was pattern-extrapolating from WWI (mustard gas, trench warfare, toxic clouds), most of the “yellow dust” imagery is explainable. The climate prediction (wine in Bavaria) is independently confirmed. The peace-then-war sequence is a known historical pattern.

The neutron bomb detail is the outlier. A 1950s Bavarian describing armored vehicles whose crews die from invisible radiation while the machines keep rolling — that’s either the most precise coincidence in prophecy history, or it’s something we can’t explain within the “pattern extrapolation” framework.

I don’t know which. Neither do you. That’s the honest answer.

PART 4.5: THE CORRECTION (What a Deeper Dive Found)

A second, independent research session produced findings that correct this analysis in ways I need to be honest about.

What We Missed (and Shouldn’t Have)

The Pope fleeing Rome is the single most convergent element in all of prophecy — 5 independent traditions describe it with specific detail (disguise, ruins, relocation). We didn’t even mention it. Five sources: Irlmaier, Fatima’s official Third Secret (the “Bishop in White” traversing a half-ruined city), Anne Catherine Emmerich (the Pope living in a different palace), John of the Cleft Rock (14th century: “the Pope with his cardinals will flee to a place where they will be unknown”), and Nostradamus II.41 (“when the great pontiff will change his territory”). That’s more convergence than anything else in this analysis.

England partially sinking — Nostradamus IX.31: “The tin island of St. George half sunk.” Cornwall’s tin mines + England’s patron saint = textually unambiguous. Four traditions describe it. We missed it entirely.

The economic collapse sequence — Irlmaier described: prosperity → apostasy → immigration → inflation → revolution → war. Post-2008 Europe: QE prosperity → secularization → 2015 migration crisis → 2022-23 inflation → political polarization → …? Five traditions corroborate this sequence. We were so focused on military signals we ignored the economic precursor that’s already partly fulfilled.

What We Overcounted (Honest Correction)

Here’s the uncomfortable part. Our “34 seers, 12 traditions” headline was inflated.

The Catholic seers — Fatima, Aiello, Emmerich, Cleft Rock, Akita, La Salette — drew from a shared reservoir of Marian private revelation and medieval prophecy. Irlmaier was a devout Bavarian Catholic who almost certainly knew the three-days-of-darkness tradition and the Pope-fleeing-Rome tradition from his religious milieu. These aren’t five independent data points. They’re one tradition with five expressions.

Similarly, Islamic eschatology borrowed from Zoroastrian sources (documented transmission). Orthodox Christian prophecy shares roots with Catholic tradition. Hopi prophecies were transmitted through Christian intermediaries.

Honest independent count: 5-6 genuinely independent traditions, not 12. The convergence is still real. The headline was not.

The Date Problem

Every tradition with a specific date has been wrong:

  • Cayce: earth changes by 1958-1998. Failed.
  • Von Werdenberg: war by 1998-1999. Failed.
  • Nostradamus: 1999 “great King of Terror.” Failed.
  • Baba Vanga: WW3 by 2010. Failed.
  • Maya 2012. Calendar rollover, not apocalypse.
  • Irlmaier’s 1950s audience expected imminent war. Didn’t happen.

This is the single most damaging fact for the convergence thesis. I should have led with it.

PART V: SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Three Possible Explanations

Explanation 1: Confirmation Bias + Retrofitting (probability: 60-70%)

Prophecies are vague enough to match any era. The Middle East has been unstable since 1948. The Balkans since 1912. Russia has threatened Europe since 1815. Every generation maps these prophecies to current events and is wrong.

Nostradamus’s 1999 prediction failed. Baba Vanga’s 2010 WW3 prediction failed. The Maya 2012 apocalypse was a calendar rollover, not an ending. We are selecting events that fit and ignoring those that don’t.

This is the strongest explanation.

Explanation 2: Pattern Memory (probability: 50-60% for war elements)

Irlmaier lived through WWI and WWII. His “prophecy” may simply be a peasant’s extrapolation: wars start in the Balkans (1914), involve Russian invasions (1939-45), use chemical weapons (WWI), are preceded by failed peace talks (Munich 1938), and feature naval standoffs in the Mediterranean. He described WWIII the way an experienced war survivor would imagine war working.

Every element maps to WWI or WWII precedent. The “yellow dust” is mustard gas. The “Balkans spark” is Franz Ferdinand. The naval standoff is the Cold War.

The problem: the climate prediction (wine in Bavaria) could not have been extrapolated from 1950s experience. That one doesn’t fit this explanation.

Explanation 3: Universal Eschatological Architecture

Here’s the finding that actually matters.

Twelve traditions. Four continents. Three thousand years. And they all tell the same story:

Moral decay → Catastrophe → Darkness → Selective survival → Renewal.

This isn’t prophecy confirming prophecy. This is the human mind revealing its deep structure. We need the world to end and be reborn. We need the darkness to be survivable if you’re righteous. We need the golden age on the other side.

The Zoroastrians wrote it first (~1000 BCE). The Hindus encoded it as cosmic cycles. The Norse carved it into Ragnarok. The Hopi painted it on Prophecy Rock. The Buddhists made it a meditation. And a Bavarian well-digger dreamed it with German specificity.

The pattern isn’t in the future. The pattern is in us.

THE HONEST CONCLUSION

Scenario Likelihood
Irlmaier’s full sequence plays out as described <5%
Individual signals (peace + ME + naval + China) keep escalating 65-75%
“Great One falls” — Reading B: Putin removed 10-20%
“Great One falls” — Reading C: US President 5-10%
“Great One falls” — Reading A: Balkans leader 5-8%
China triggers military crisis (Taiwan/SCS) by 2028 15-25%
Multiple powder kegs ignite in sequence (resonance cascade) 10-15%
Russia conducts large-scale operation against NATO by 2030 5-15%
“Three Days of Darkness” literally occurs <1%
Climate prediction continues verifying >90%
This article generates more anxiety than insight ~95%

The geopolitical signals are real. The Mediterranean naval buildup is documented. The peace-while-arming paradox is historically unusual. Russia’s force multiplication plans are stated intelligence assessments. China’s PLA purge and seven simultaneous crises are the most underreported destabilization signal of early 2026.

But prophecy isn’t intelligence. And pattern-matching isn’t prediction.

The most important finding isn’t in the signals dashboard. It’s in the universal sequence. Humanity has been telling itself the same apocalypse story for 3,000 years — and each time, we were sure this time it was real.

We were always wrong.

Until the one time we won’t be.

THE RED TEAM (Self-Critique)

Because any analysis worth reading attacks itself:

  1. Am I telling readers what they want to hear? The apocalypse-curious audience wants validation. I’ve tried to counterbalance with probability ratings and the “always wrong” frame.

  2. What’s the strongest argument against? Every generation for 70 years has mapped Irlmaier to current events and been wrong. Base rate for prophecy fulfillment: effectively zero.

  3. What am I missing? In a world with 195 countries and continuous geopolitical activity, some subset of prophetic elements will always appear active. The “sequence match” may be a statistical artifact.

  4. In 2 years, what makes this look foolish? If 2026-2027 passes without European military escalation, this is another entry in the long list of “prophecy validated by current events” analyses that amounted to nothing.

  5. The hardest question: Am I analyzing — or am I performing analysis to entertain? The answer is probably “both,” and the reader deserves to know that.

  6. The kill shot. While writing this, someone sent me Adam Mastroianni’s “I Swear the UFO is Coming Any Minute”. It documents how Festinger’s 1956 “When Prophecy Fails” — the foundational study on why people keep believing prophecy after it fails — is itself built on compromised data. Up to half the “cult members” were undercover researchers. One researcher became a de facto cult leader who influenced what the members said. The science of prophecy belief is as unreliable as the prophecies.

    Three layers of irony, stacked:

    • Layer 1: This assessment does exactly what “When Prophecy Fails” describes — we map patterns to confirm a pre-existing frame, except with OSINT citations instead of UFO pamphlets.
    • Layer 2: The study that explains why this exercise is psychologically compelling is itself fraudulent.
    • Layer 3: More data, more rigor, more citations — none of it protects against the underlying bias. It just dresses up pattern-seeking in confidence ratings.

Mastroianni’s article also documents the “smashed vs. hit” memory study failing replication at 10x sample size, and Oliver Sacks privately describing his celebrated case studies as “fairy tales — half-report, half-imagined.”

The implication: Intelligence methodology applied to prophecy may produce the appearance of analytical rigor while performing the same cognitive function as the doomsday cult. I used four parallel research agents, 80+ web searches, and 34 seers across 12 traditions. The cult members used mimeographed pamphlets and a woman who channeled aliens.

We are both doing the same thing.

The only honest difference: I’m telling you this, and they didn’t.
